Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data

In accordance with Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, HEALING JOURNEY HEALTH TOURISM LIMITED COMPANY (“Healing Journey®”), acting as the data controller, places great importance on the protection of personal data and the privacy of private life.

Within the scope of our services, treatment coordination activities, website operations, and commercial relationships, your personal data may be processed in compliance with the law, the principles of honesty, proportionality, data minimization, and purpose limitation.

Your data may be collected, recorded, stored, preserved, maintained, updated, classified, disclosed, or transferred to third parties only to the extent permitted by applicable legislation and only for the specific purposes for which it was obtained.

Categories of Personal Data We May Process

1. Identity Data

Name, surname, Turkish identity number, signature, mother’s and father’s name, place and date of birth, registration information, identity card details, marital status, nationality, social security number, tax identification number, passport copy, driver’s license copy, employee card, and similar identification data.

2. Communication Data

Telephone number, mobile number, home address, e-mail address, and other contact details used to communicate with you.

3. Health Data

Medical history, diagnosis, epicrisis, anamnesis, prescriptions, treatment plans, laboratory results, physician evaluations and comments, medical reports, pregnancy status, disability status, genetic disease information, medication records, lifestyle data such as smoking or alcohol use, and other health-related records.

4. Biometric Data

Palm print, biometric test data, genetic test results, and related information where applicable.

5. Audio / Visual Data

Photographs, audio recordings, camera recordings, and copies or scans of identity documents.

6. Financial Data

Bank account number, IBAN, card information, bank details, invoices, payment information, and current account records.

7. Signature Data

Wet signature, e-signature, signature copies or scans, and signature circulars or statements where relevant.

8. Occupational Data

Information relating to your workplace, profession, or occupational status.

9. Education Data

School information, education history, vocational training, and personal training information, where necessary.

Purposes of Processing Your Data

Your personal data may be processed for purposes including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Planning, coordinating, and delivering medical diagnosis, treatment, care, and follow-up services.
  • Providing preventive medicine, early diagnosis, and health service management.
  • Complying with legal and regulatory obligations under applicable health, finance, and consumer laws.
  • Managing appointment requests, confirmations, reminders, and patient communication.
  • Providing online and live support services.
  • Responding to your questions, requests, and complaints.
  • Carrying out invoicing, payment, accounting, and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Coordinating with contracted hospitals, physicians, laboratories, and service providers.
  • Measuring patient satisfaction, conducting surveys, and improving service quality.
  • Performing analysis, reporting, risk management, and quality improvement activities.

Domestic Transfer of Your Data

In line with the purposes explained above and within the framework of Articles 8 and 9 of Law No. 6698, your personal data may be shared, by taking the necessary technical and administrative security measures, with relevant public authorities and organizations including the Social Security Institution, the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Directorates, public prosecutors’ offices, courts, enforcement directorates, contracted laboratories, affiliated companies, contracted physicians, and online service providers, where necessary for treatment, legal compliance, defense of rights, and service delivery.

Transfer of Data Abroad

Your personal data obtained within the scope of membership agreements, distance sales agreements, treatment coordination services, or similar contractual relationships may be transferred abroad in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of Law No. 6698, provided that the required security measures are taken.

Such transfers may be made to countries declared by the relevant authority to provide adequate protection, or otherwise on the basis of your explicit consent and only to the extent necessary for the purposes described in this notice.

Method and Legal Basis for Collecting Personal Data

Your personal data may be collected through our website, contact forms, online consultation forms, e-mail, telephone, messaging channels, contracts, and other communication tools you use to contact us or share information with us.

Data is collected for the purposes of fulfilling our legal obligations, carrying out healthcare and treatment coordination services, performing contractual obligations, protecting the legitimate interests of our company, and ensuring that our commercial and operational activities can be conducted effectively.

Such data may be securely collected and processed in physical or electronic environments based on the legal grounds set out in Article 5/2(c), Article 5/2(f), and Article 6 of Law No. 6698, and where required, based on your explicit consent.

Your Rights Under Article 11 of Law No. 6698

As a personal data owner, you have the right to:

  • Learn whether your personal data is processed.
  • Request information if your personal data has been processed.
  • Learn the purpose of processing and whether your data is used accordingly.
  • Know the third parties to whom your data is transferred domestically or abroad.
  • Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate personal data.
  • Request deletion or destruction of personal data when the reasons requiring processing no longer exist.
  • Request notification of correction, deletion, or destruction actions to third parties to whom data was transferred.
  • Object to a result against you arising from analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems.
  • Request compensation in case of damage due to unlawful processing of your personal data.

Requests submitted to HEALING JOURNEY HEALTH TOURISM LIMITED COMPANY will be answered free of charge within 30 days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request. If the process requires additional costs, a fee may be charged according to the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.

You may apply in person by verifying your identity at our company address, or through a proxy by presenting a valid power of attorney. Applications may be submitted using a petition or application form with a wet signature.

Storage of Personal Data

Your personal data may be stored for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, or for the period required by the applicable legislation, contractual obligations, or legitimate business needs.

If the legal basis or purpose for processing no longer exists, and there is no other legal requirement for retention, your data will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized in accordance with the law.
